Commercial photography by Sydney photographer Gavin Jowitt

An early portrait I took of Chris Jowitt at Brands Hatch circa 1979. One of the rare occasions he posed for a photo. The James Hunt hat was mine. Hunt along with my father were my childhood heroes. Both checked out ahead of their time. It was Dad who encouraged me to pick up a camera. He’s sporting his Praktica LTL 3 around his neck which soon became my first SLR. I took this shot using the first camera he bought me, a Cosmic Symbol made by LOMO. Today is his 80th birthday. Happy birthday, Dad.
